Country Songs - Whiskey Valor Project

Summertime Was Everything

The Day My World Fell Apart

The Day My World Fell Apart

Little league diamonds, August skies

Carnival lights in our wide-open eyes

Catching fireflies in a mason jar glow

Lemonade stands where the quarters would flow

We were running on laughter, chasing the sun

Didn’t need a reason, just needed to run

Times were a lot easier when we were young

Not a care in the world, life was all about fun

Summertime led to fall, and fall meant school

But for a little while there, the world was cool

Yeah, summertime held everything

Back when the world was just beginning to sing

Stories by the firelight, smoke in our hair

First kiss stolen on a double-dog dare

Boats on the river, racing to the bend

Backyard campouts felt like they’d never end

We were counting the stars, dreaming out loud

Didn’t need much, just a blanket on the ground

Times were a lot easier when we were young

Not a care in the world, life was all about fun

Summertime led to fall, and fall meant school

But for a little while there, the world was cool

Yeah, summertime held everything

Back when the world was just beginning to sing

Fishing with my pappy at the break of dawn

Grandma humming while the day rolled on

Killing time felt like it would never end

Those were the days I’d live over again

Times were a lot easier when we were young

Not a care in the world, life was all about fun

Summertime led to fall, and fall meant school

But for a little while there, the world was cool

Yeah, summertime was everything

Back when the world was just beginning to sing

The Day My World Fell Apart

The Day My World Fell Apart

The Day My World Fell Apart

I got the call, my heart went still

I caught a plane, to the west coast skies

You were lying there, the fight uphill

Made it in time just to say goodbye

I held your hand, Dad, through the night

My rock, my truth, my guiding light

You carried me through the hardest storms

And kept me safe, and kept me warm

But the day my world fell apart

I lost the keeper of my heart

You taught me strength, you taught me grace

But nothing prepared me for this empty space

Life will never be the same

Since the day my world changed

You fixed the big things I couldn’t see

The little ones quietly, secretly

You made sure I had what I’d need

And showed me how to chase my dreams

But the day my world fell apart

I lost the keeper of my heart

You taught me strength, you taught me grace

But nothing prepared me for this empty space

Life will never be the same

Since the day my world changed

At Arlington, on that cold gray day

As taps were played, a flock of birds took wing away

I whispered thanks, I whispered your name

But the silence hit harder than any pain

The day my world fell apart

I lost the keeper of my heart

You gave me wisdom, gave me love

But you never could prepare me for not enough

Life will never be the same

Since the day my world changed

(Spoken)You taught me what I needed to know

(Spoken)But not how to let you go

The day my world fell apart

(Spoken)I carry you here, inside my heart.

Through Bill’s Eyes

The Day My World Fell Apart

Through Bill’s Eyes

Every month we take our table by the window,

Laughing ‘bout the little things he knows.

He’s got a story for every day, every mile,

And sometimes the facts twist — but the truth’s in his smile.

He remembers the details, he stitches the seams,

He colors the silence with half-true dreams.

I don’t correct him — I don’t even try,

His stories are better that way, they shine.

And I love seeing the world through Bill’s eyes,

Where everyone’s a friend, no need for disguise.

He asks me my story, he offers me his,

In a world full of strangers, I wish we all lived like this.

Classic TV reruns playing in his head,

He’ll quote the lines, then move on instead

To ask me about my week, where I’ve been,

Like he’s tracing the map of the life I’m in.

He’s got the gift of gab, the warmth in his hands,

A traveler’s heart, and a thousand plans.

He laughs at the punchlines, he makes them his own,

And somehow with Bill, I never feel alone.

And I love seeing the world through Bill’s eyes,

Where everyone’s a friend, no need for disguise.

He asks me my story, he offers me his,

In a world full of strangers, I wish we all lived like this.

There’s no filter, no mask, no disguise,

Only wonder when I look in his eyes.

I think maybe he sees what the rest of us miss,

That love is the heart of a night like this.

Yeah, I love seeing the world through Bill’s eyes,

Every wrong turn still feels like it’s right.

He tells me his stories, I give him mine,

And the world feels more human when Bill’s by my side.

So here’s to the dinners, the laughter, the days,

The friend who can turn the ordinary into grace.

I love the world, yeah, I love the world through Bill’s eyes.

A Summer Love

Middle Aged Love Song

Through Bill’s Eyes

Bare feet on the boardwalk, radio playin’ low,

Sunset paintin’ fire on the water’s golden glow.

You were laughin’ in that salt air, hair blowin’ wild and free,

Said, “I don’t know where life will take us, but tonight you’re here with me.”

Summer love and sand between our toes,

Promises whispered where the warm tide flows.

We walked for miles, hand in hand,

Sea birds singin’ above the land.

Old couples smiled, we thought we knew —

Forever starts with skies that blue.

Laughter, tears, and a sunburn glow,

Summer love — it’s so hard to let go.

We carved our names where the waves kissed the shore,

Talked ‘bout dreams, and still wanted more.

You smelled like sunscreen and ocean spray,

Said you’d write when I drove away.

There were fireflies and a soft guitar,

And a wish on the evening star.

Summer love and sand between our toes,

Promises whispered where the warm tide flows.

We walked for miles, hand in hand,

Sea birds singin’ above the land.

Old couples smiled, we thought we knew —

Forever starts with skies that blue.

Laughter, tears, and a sunburn glow,

Summer love — it’s so hard to let go.

Now every sunset takes me back,

To that driftwood fire, our heart’s own track.

You were my first taste of heaven’s touch,

That sweet goodbye still hurts too much.

Summer love, salt air, and dreams,

Tangled hearts and moonlight beams.

We swore we’d stay in touch someday,

But the tide rolled in and washed it away.

Still I feel your hand in mine,

That first love frozen in time.

Summer love — it’s the one I’ll always know,

From the days of sunburn, hearts, and saltwater glow.

Middle Aged Love Song

Middle Aged Love Song

Middle Aged Love Song

The kids are at Mom’s, the coast is clear,

You just pulled up, I’m grinnin’ ear to ear.

No dinner plans, no laundry piles,

Just candlelight and your crooked smile.

We ain’t twenty-two, but who says we can’t be wild?

Lock the door, baby, it’s been a while.

Come find me in the house, don’t pass go,

Follow the trail where the lights are low.

I’m hidin’ somewhere wearin’ your old tee,

Playin’ a game of “come catch me.”

Kick off your boots, pop open a top,

Pour a cold one, make the world stop.

Tonight we’re free from every vow —

Come find me, come get me… right here, right now.

We’ve got bills to pay and dreams to chase,

But tonight’s about this little place.

No carpools, meetings, or bedtime songs,

Just a love we’ve had for so damn long.

You don’t know how bad I need this time,

To let my hair down and lose my mind.

We’ll dance in the kitchen, laugh ‘til we cry,

Make a little love ‘neath the TV light.

Before we drift off, side by side,

We’ll steal one more kiss before goodnight.

Come find me in the house, don’t pass go,

Love me fast, love me slow.

Tomorrow brings that nine-to-five,

But baby tonight we feel alive.

Kick off your boots, pop open a top,

Pour a cold one, make the world stop.

Before we’re asleep on that old couch —

Come find me, come get me… right here, right now.

Honest Ground

Middle Aged Love Song

Middle Aged Love Song

I grew up with dirt on my boots and stars overhead

City lights tried to tell me what they thought I said

They paint us as angry, narrow, stuck in our ways

But they ain’t drove these backroads or worked these long days

We rise before the rooster, we work till the sun’s gone

Ain’t got time for your labels, we just get it done

We don’t care who you love or the color of your skin

Don’t care what you’re wearing or where you’ve been

We care if your word’s good, if you’ll look us in the eye

Pull your weight in the field when the hard times fly

We care ‘bout the price of diesel, the market for our yield

Feeding our families, standing on this honest ground

We don’t give a damn about your city problems

‘Til you make ‘em ours… then you might not like what you hear

We got neighbors in need, we show up with a plate

Fix their fence or their tractor, stay as long as it takes

Don’t matter your last name, your flag, or your past

Just show us some honesty, we’ll meet you halfway

We ain’t out here judging how you live your life

Long as you respect ours and you don’t bring no strife

We don’t care who you love or the color of your skin

Don’t care what you’re wearing or where you’ve been

We care if your word’s good, if you’ll look us in the eye

Pull your weight in the field when the hard times fly

We care ‘bout the price of diesel, the market for our yield

Feeding our families, standing on this honest ground

We don’t give a damn about your city problems

‘Til you make ‘em ours… then you might not like what you hear

We built this life with calloused hands and simple prayer

Love our kids, love our land, love the open air

You can keep your noise and your endless divide

We’ll keep these wide-open fields where the real truth hides

Yeah, we don’t care who you love or the color of your skin

Don’t care ‘bout the fashion or the shape you’re in

We care if you’re honest, if you carry your load

Love your people fierce and walk these same old roads

Fuel in the tank, crops in the bin, family tight

That’s the country heart, that’s the country life

We don’t give a damn about your city problems…

But cross that line, son… you might not like what you hear

Good Time Saturday Night

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

Fifty Years of Morning Light

Down a red clay road where the corn rows bend,

You’ll find us where the pavement ends.

Coolers in the back of a beat-up Ford,

Tailgates down, can’t ask for more.

Fireflies dancing in the July air,

Music loud, not a worry or care.

Ain’t no city lights, just the stars so bright,

Lighting up a good time Saturday night.

We’re talkin’ bonfires, backroads, and homegrown smiles,

Cold beer, warm hearts, friends stayin’ awhile.

Pond swims where the maps don’t show,

Kickin’ up dust in the moonlight glow.

We’ve been raisin’ kids and doin’ things right,

Built on morals, love, and a little fight.

Yeah, we’re small-town proud, it feels just right,

Havin’ a good time Saturday night.

Friday night lights still shine on the field,

Same ol’ bleachers, same hometown feel.

Old men sittin’ where they’ve sat for years,

Tellin’ the stories that we all hold dear.

Young love bloom by the Dairy Freeze sign,

We were those kids back in ’89.

Now we’re watchin’ ours grow up in sight,

Underneath them good time Saturday nights.

Ain’t about the money, ain’t about the fame,

It’s the friends you got and your family name.

We stand for somethin’ that don’t fade away,

Faith and heart, the American way.

So here’s to bonfires, backroads, and homegrown smiles,

Cold beer, warm hearts, stayin’ a while.

To the ponds and the fields and the Friday lights,

And the folks still here after thirty years’ nights.

Yeah, we’re livin’ right, where the stars burn bright,

Feelin’ that good time Saturday night.

Yeah, that small-town soul just shines so bright…

Fifty Years of Morning Light

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

Fifty Years of Morning Light

He wore the Navy blue, sailed across the tide,

Vietnam shadows, oceans deep and wide.

Missed a daughter’s first breath while the cannons roared,

But he carried her picture from a distant shore.

She taught the children’s words beneath foreign skies,

Chalk dust on her hands, adventure in her eyes.

Patience in her voice, kindness in her ways,

Building love in the hours and the passing days.

Fifty years of morning light, fifty years of holding tight,

Through the storms and the quiet, they’ve walked side by side.

Two kids raised with gentle hands, one son with dreams that understand,

And a daughter’s laughter carried through the night.

Fifty years of morning light.

Now he swings a club on the rolling green,

She shuffles cards where the hearts have been.

Grandkids’ voices ring like a choir of bells,

In the twilight time, they’ve got stories to tell.

Fifty years of morning light, fifty years of holding tight,

Through the storms and the quiet, they’ve walked side by side.

Two kids raised with gentle hands, one son with dreams that understand,

And a daughter’s laughter carried through the night.

Fifty years of morning light.

It wasn’t always easy, it wasn’t always fair,

But they built their home with mercy, brick by brick with care.

Every tear and every mile, every wrong turned right—

Patience, determination, and kindness in the night.

Final Chorus (gentle, reflective)

Fifty years of morning light, fifty years of hearts that fight,

For the love that keeps on burning, steady, warm, and bright.

Now the road is softer, but their spirit’s strong,

In the life they built together, where they both belong.

Fifty years of morning light.

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

Rolling out west where the trees kiss the sky,

Shenandoah whispers as the miles roll by.

Through the corn belt straight as a farmer’s row,

Then the high plains laugh ‘cause the wind sure blows.

Wide open highways, backroads shine,

Every mile’s a story, every town’s a line.

Family, friends, strangers turned to chums,

You’re only a stranger once under the American sun.

New Orleans night where the horns don’t sleep,

Lock Haven’s quiet hum where the secrets keep.

Desert sands burn and the northwest rains,

Mountains stand tall with a poet’s veins.

Wide open highways, backroads shine,

Every mile’s a story, every town’s a line.

Living life full throttle, that’s the deal,

This country’s got some problems, but she’s pretty damn real.

Summertime sun, winter’s snowy grin,

We lose some, we win some, we get back in.

From Atlantic waves to Pacific dreams,

It’s louder than it looks and wilder than it seems.

Folks keep coming from across the seas,

Chasing wide-eyed chances and American keys.

Backroads are our diamonds, highways are our stage,

We’re young, we’re old, we’re turning the page.

Wide open highways, backroads shine,

Every mile’s a story, every town’s a line.

Raise a glass, laugh loud, kick up some dust,

You’re only a stranger once—so roll on with us.

Outro (spoken over riff, tongue-in-cheek):

Yeah, the car’s got three hubcaps, the cooler’s got warm beer,

But the road’s still calling, and buddy—we’re already here.

Front Porch Country Song

Front Porch Country Song

Wide Open Roads (You’re Only a Stranger Once)

There’s a swing that’s creakin’ in the evenin’ breeze,

Where Pap leans back with a glass of sweet tea.

Gram’s got a bowl and a pile of corn,

Shuckin’ and laughin’ like she’s done since I was born.

I tell ’em ’bout the ball game and the girl I met,

They hang on every word like it’s the best one yet.

Yeah, the front porch is everything,

It’s where love and time both sing.

Where the stories flow and the crickets play,

And the sun melts slow at the end of the day.

It’s where hearts get mended, and memories cling—

Yeah, the front porch… the front porch is everything.

Pap tells a tale ’bout ’62,

When he bought this land and the sky was blue.

Gram wipes her hands on her apron strings,

Says, “Don’t rush life, it’s the little things.”

They smile when I talk ’bout my crazy friends,

Say, “Don’t grow up too fast, son, these moments end.”

’Cause the front porch is everything,

It’s the doorway to where angels sing.

Where the world slows down and your soul feels right,

Under firefly lamps and the soft moonlight.

It’s where love takes root and the church bells ring—

Yeah, the front porch… the front porch is everything.

One day that swing’ll be still in the breeze,

No Pap, no Gram, just memories.

But I’ll hear their laughter in the wind’s low hum,

And tell my kids where they came from.

’Cause the front porch is everything,

A piece of heaven on cedar beams.

Where the past and future softly meet,

In the rhythm of the rocking seat.

It’s the first “hello,” it’s the last sweet dream—

Yeah, the front porch…

The front porch is everything.

Just me and that swing…

Yeah, the front porch is everything.

Damaged Not Broken

Front Porch Country Song

The Sound of Combines

The train pulled in at sundown, flag waving in the breeze,

He stepped down with a limp, but his head held proud and free.

The scars tell his story, the pain is etched in stone,

But his heart’s still beating strong for the place he calls home.

He’s damaged but not broken, still standing in the light,

A soldier with a fire that carried him through the fight.

For the brothers left behind, their names he’s never spoken,

He carries them inside — damaged but not broken.

There are nights when the silence cuts deeper than the shell,

Dreams of those who never made it back still haunt him well.

But he leans on his courage, on the love he’s come to know,

And shows the world around him how hope can still grow.

He’s damaged but not broken, still standing in the light,

A soldier with a fire that carried him through the fight.

For the brothers left behind, their names he’s never spoken,

He carries them inside — damaged but not broken.

So raise a glass of freedom, to the ones who paved the way,

Some gave their tomorrow so we could have today.

And if you see him walking, with a tear behind his eyes,

Know it’s strength that keeps him moving, and faith that never dies.

He’s damaged but not broken, a beacon on the hill,

Proof that even wounded hearts can beat with iron will.

For the fallen and the living, for the promise never spoken,

He’s living every day — damaged but not broken.

Yes, he’s living every day… damaged but not broken.

The Sound of Combines

Front Porch Country Song

The Sound of Combines

Dust on the dashboard, boots on the floorboard

Tailgate down at the edge of the field

She’s got sweet tea in a mason jar, hair in the wind

And that golden hour light on the wheat

We don’t need neon or skyscraper lights

Just the diesel hum rolling under the night

Some folks hear traffic

Some hear downtown bars

I hear combines humming

Beneath a million stars

That low rumble calling me home

Where the harvest moon shines and the good love grows

Yeah, the city can keep its pretty noise

Give me the sound of combines

Rows keep falling like pages in a love song

Her hand in mine on the old John Deere seat

We talk about forever while the engine sings along

Between the soybeans and the endless green

No fancy restaurants, no crowded avenues

Just fireflies dancing and me loving you

Some folks hear traffic

Some hear downtown bars

I hear combines humming

Beneath a million stars

That low rumble calling me home

Where the harvest moon shines and the good love grows

Yeah, the city can keep its pretty noise

Give me the sound of combines

Let the world chase its bright lights and fast lanes

I’ll take these backroads and calluses on my hands

‘Cause every time that big rig rolls by

It sounds like heaven saying “this is your land”

Some folks hear traffic

Some hear downtown bars

I hear combines humming

Beneath a million stars

That low rumble calling me home

Where our babies will run and these roots run deep

Yeah, the city can keep its pretty noise

Give me the sound of combines…

Lord, give me the sound of combines

Remember Our Vets

It’s Football Saturday

It’s Football Saturday

Old Joe’s got his jacket pressed,

Medals shining on his chest,

Fifty years since he was young and lean.

He fought through the frozen night,

In Korea’s bitter bite,

Now he stands tall where freedom’s flag still gleams.

There’s a World War II man in line,

Eyes still sharp but hands show time,

Tells a story ‘bout the boys who never came home.

Vietnam’s got a few more scars,

You can see it when they park their cars,

Bumper stickers fading, but the pride’s still strong.

They’re not lookin’ for attention,

They’re just hopin’ for respect,

Old soldiers standin’ steady,

For the ones we can’t forget.

From Normandy to Fallujah’s sand,

They all took a noble stand,

It’s time we do all we can—

To remember our vets.

Desert Storm and the Middle East,

They fought hard so we could feast,

Under red, white, and blue parades of fall.

And though the years have taken toll,

There’s fire still in their soul,

When that bugle blows, they answer the call.

Those World War II boys are fading fast,

Their memories are all we’ll have,

So pull up a chair, and listen while you can.

Hear ‘bout brothers they left behind,

And the flag they swore to never let die,

Their stories tell us who we really am.

They’re not askin’ for a medal,

They’ve already paid that debt,

They’re the reason freedom’s breathin’,

Don’t you ever forget.

From Iwo Jima to Kandahar’s sand,

They all took a noble stand,

It’s time we reach out our hands—

And remember our vets.

So when that small-town band begins to play,

And they march proud down Main Street way,

Tip your hat, stand tall, don’t ever forget…

America’s heart beats in her vets.

Listen

It’s Football Saturday

It’s Football Saturday

It’s Football Saturday

Friday night fades, sun cracks at the break of dawn,

Flags fly high, the grills come on.

Coolers packed, friends rollin’ in,

It’s game day, baby, let the fun begin.

Burgers and dogs, brats on the flame,

Chicken wings sizzlin’, crowd knows your name.

Win or lose, we play the same —

With pride, with heart, with love of the game.

We cheer for the good guy, jeer the bad,

Wave that flag, wear your colors proud.

From Go Navy!-Beat Army! to Mountaineer gold,

Wolfpack red, Sooner bold.

Cornhuskers, Irish, Wolverines too,

Penn State, Miami — we see you!

Even USC, UCLA, and ‘Bama’s might,

We’re all just chasing that Saturday light.

Yeah, we root for our team, and HELL, against the other guys,

Making memories ‘neath the autumn skies.

Smoke from the pit, guitars in the breeze,

Stories and laughter float through the trees.

Somebody’s uncle’s telling tales again,

About the big game way back when.

College kids singing, old folks grin,

Same old fight songs, let’s dive right in.

It’s not just the score that fills our hearts —

It’s the tailgates, friends, and how it starts.

We cheer for the good guy, jeer the bad,

Wave that flag, wear your colors proud.

Colorado’s pride, Ohio State,

Go Dawgs, and it feels so great.

From sea to sea, it’s a sacred call,

Faith and football, God bless us all.

Yeah, we win some, lose some, but we’re never far apart —

‘Cause the best parts of life are right where we start.

So fire up that grill, pour a drink or two,

Hug your brother, Hug your sister, Hug your whole damn crew.

It’s more than a game — it’s where we belong,

It’s friendship, love, and a fight song strong.

We cheer for the good guy, jeer the bad,

Wave that flag, wear your colors proud.

Navy, West Virginia, NC State,

Oklahoma pride and Cornhusker fate.

Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State blue,

Miami heat and the Trojans too.

Get out there, live it, let those memories burn bright,

‘Cause Saturday’s for football — and everything right.

So here’s to the fans and the stories we bring,

To the burgers, the brats, and the songs we sing.

Win or lose, our hearts still ring —

For the good guys, the game, and the joy it brings.

The Last Call

It’s Football Saturday

The Last Call

We wore the same boots once upon a time,

Carried the weight of a hard front line.

You came home but the fight stayed near,

I thought we’d beat it with a laugh and a beer.

But the demons you carried wouldn’t let you rest,

I never knew the pain you kept in your chest.

So here’s to the last call we never made,

The barstool empty, the plans we laid.

I raise this glass to the friend I lost,

Freedom’s price came with a heavy cost.

We were brothers ‘til the end, through it all—

I just wish we’d had that last call.

I still drive by that neon sign,

Thinking one more night, one more time.

To hear your stories, your crooked grin,

And talk ‘bout the war like we always did.

But silence answered when the phone rang late,

And now I carry the weight of fate.

So here’s to the last call we never made,

The barstool empty, the plans we laid.

I raise this glass to the friend I lost,

Freedom’s price came with a heavy cost.

We were brothers ‘til the end, through it all—

I just wish we’d had that last call.

If there’s a honky-tonk beyond the sky,

Save me a seat when it’s my time.

We’ll laugh again where the pain can’t crawl,

And share that long-lost last call.

So here’s to the last call we never made,

The barstool empty, the plans we laid.

I’ll keep on livin’, but I’ll never forget—

The brother I lost, the life, the debt.

We were brothers ‘til the end, through it all—

And I’ll meet you there for the last call.

Bonfire Country

Chase Your Stars On A Comet

Chase Your Stars On A Comet

Sun’s goin’ down on the cut corn fields

Tractors parked, dust finally settled

Harvest is in, we earned every meal

Now the whole town’s ready to raise some hell

Boots on the ground, radio turned up loud

Old Ford trucks backin’ in a circle now

Light it up, let it burn, Bonfire Country

Friday night, stars come out, we ain’t in no hurry

Cheap beer in a cooler, tailgates down low

Steel guitar cryin’, everybody sings along

We worked like dogs, now we’re breathin’ free

This is Bonfire Country, y’all come on and see

Girls in boots dancin’ on the flatbed

Boys cuttin’ up, laughin’ at the stories we’ve said

Smoke risin’ high, carryin’ our worries away

Fiddle sawin’, banjo pickin’ that old-timey way

Grandpa’s laughin’ from his fold-out chair

Kids runnin’ wild without a single care

Light it up, let it burn, Bonfire Country

Friday night, stars come out, we ain’t in no hurry

Cheap beer in a cooler, tailgates down low

Steel guitar cryin’, everybody sings along

We worked like dogs, now we’re breathin’ free

This is Bonfire Country, y’all come on and see

Yeah, the year was long and the days got tough

But right here tonight, we got more than enough

One more log on the fire, one more round for the crew

Here’s to small-town livin’ and the red-white-blue

Final Chorus (bigger, with full backing vocals)

Light it up, let it burn, Bonfire Country

Friday night, stars come out, we ain’t in no hurry

Cheap beer in a cooler, tailgates down low

Everybody hollerin’ “Hell yeah, let’s go!”

We worked like dogs, now we’re breathin’ free

This is Bonfire Country… home to me

Bonfire Country… yeah, this is home to me

Chase Your Stars On A Comet

Chase Your Stars On A Comet

Chase Your Stars On A Comet

You’ve been draggin’ that hurt like an old bar song,

Tryin’ to make the wrong one right too long.

But brother, that ghost don’t own your days,

She’s gone — let her fade away.

There’s a new light burnin’ in your sky,

It’s time to spread those wings and fly.

She’s right there, love in plain view,

Open heart and steady too.

So chase your stars on a comet, let the good love pull you through,

Don’t waste a wish on the past, when the future’s callin’ you.

The one you found is solid ground, she’ll keep your world in tune,

So chase your stars on a comet — she’s the best thing comin’ to you.

That old flame burned cold and mean,

Left you stuck in her in-between.

But this one laughs with her whole heart wide,

You can see forever in her eyes.

Take the road of grace and peace,

Let all that bitterness cease.

Brother, I’ve walked where you’ve been,

Let love start again.

Yeah, chase your stars on a comet, let the good love pull you through,

Don’t waste a wish on the past, when the future’s callin’ you.

The one you found is solid ground, she’ll keep your world in tune,

So chase your stars on a comet — she’s the best thing comin’ to you.

Kindness over anger, mercy over pride,

Don’t let the pain decide.

The storm is over, the sky’s gone blue,

What’s left is meant for you.

Go chase your stars on a comet,

Let her light be your guide tonight.

The one you lost was just a lesson,

The one you’ve got is right.

She’ll keep your boots on the ground, your heart in the fight,

So chase your stars on a comet — and never look back at the night.
