Phone light, slow scroll, same small room
Click-click headlines cut too soon
Red thread, dead feed, repeat, rewind
Tick-tock talk stuck in my mind
Voices rise, won't let it land
One digs in, the other just stands
Short words snap from a tight-lipped grin
Closed mouths choke what we're holdin' in
Buzz, break, blink—don't breathe, don't think
Live wire lines at the mental brink
I'm reaching through the noise, are you there with me?
In the dead of the night, trying to feel alive
We're drifting in the silence, wide awake, alone
Every word just fades into a hollow tone
I don't wanna live like this, automatic—
I don't wanna love through static
Group chat blows up, back and forth
Same damn fight, still wanting more
March chants crash on a crowded street
While I count change just to make ends meet
Upstairs kid with a split-screen stance
Quick-click quips in a cold glance
Both type tight like truth's in the text
Then sit still, stressed, second-guess
Ping, push, pull—too much, too full
Thin skin stretched, can't take much more
I'm reaching through the noise, are you there with me?
In the dead of the night, trying to feel alive
We're drifting in the silence, wide awake, alone
Every word just fades into a hollow tone
I don't wanna live like this, automatic—
I don't wanna love through static
Put it down…
Just stop for a minute
Not the feed, not the fight
Not the need to be right
Just… here
I can see you now in a different light
Not a name on a screen, but a real, real life
We were lost in the noise, now we're finally here
Every breath, every word coming in clear
I don't wanna live like this, automatic—
I don't wanna love through static

I rehearse the conversation
Before I say hello
Every word I don't wanna say
Is the only thing I know
My hands are shaking in my pockets
Like they're hiding from the truth
Everyone here looks so comfortable
Like they know what to do
I'm counting breaths like change in my hand
Don't look weird, just stand, just stand
Smile like you belong somehow
Even though you're breaking down
It's too loud inside my head
Every thought is something I said
Or something I should've said instead
I'm fine, I swear, I'm not myself
I disappear in crowded rooms
I overthink the way I move
I'm screaming quiet, speaking mute
I'm fine, I swear, I'm not myself
I read the room like a warning sign
Every laugh feels aimed at me
I'm the punchline I invented
In a joke nobody sees
I'm good at faking normal
I've been practicing for years
But the mirror knows my real face
When nobody's near
My heartbeat's louder than the band
Why's it hard just to be a man?
Why's it hard just to stay calm
When nothing's even wrong?
It's too loud inside my head
Every thought is something I said
Or something I should've said instead
I'm fine, I swear, I'm not myself
I disappear in crowded rooms
I overthink the way I move
I'm screaming quiet, speaking mute
I'm fine, I swear, I'm not myself
If I leave early, they'll talk
If I stay, I'll suffocate
If I speak, I'll say too much
If I don't, I'll seem fake
Tell me, is it all in my head?
Or am I seeing this clear?
'Cause I feel like I'm standing alone
In a room full of people right here
It's too loud inside my head
But I'm learning it doesn't mean I'm dead
Just means I'm wired a little different
I'm fine… I'm still myself
I don't vanish, I just fade
I don't run, I hesitate
I'm not broken, I'm just afraid
I'm fine… I'm still myself
So if I leave without goodbye
Or go quiet mid-sentence
Just know I'm fighting battles
You can't see from the outside
I'm trying… I

We were good in the beginning
Like most things usually are
Coffee on the counter
Your shoes by the door
Nothing felt like pressure
Nothing felt like fate
But love has a way of whispering
When it's already late
You were happy just believing
Every day would stay the same
I was seeing all the cracks
Thinking how it all would go
You called it growing comfortable
I felt us drifting off
Funny how the quietest truths
Are the ones you don't say out loud
We were both alive and dying
In a box we couldn't see
You were dreaming of forever
I was learning how to leave
Every future felt like truth
Every ending just as real
Love was living in between
Like that Schrodinger's Cat
I'd watch you laugh across the room
Like nothing here was wrong
While I was doing all I could
Just to keep us going on
You don't hurt someone by accident
You see it in their eyes
That staying is a slower kind
Of letting someone go
We were both alive and dying
Both still breathing, both unsure
You were sure this thing was working
I was sure it couldn't endure
I could see two different worlds
Lying on the same track
Both of them were real to me
Like that Schrödinger's Cat
I don't blame you for the loving
Or the way you held me close
But love that costs you everything
Ain't love you get to keep
So I opened up the silence
Let the moment choose its side
Some hearts live by holding on
Some survive by saying goodbye
Now the box is finally open
And the truth is standing still
You're hurting in the present tense
I'm healing against my will
Sadness turns to breathing room
When you finally face the fact
We were both alive and gone
Like that Schrödinger's Cat
Some loves don't die from ending
They die from hanging on

She's digging in her purse at the checkout stand
Coins on the counter, a list in her hand
Milk and bread, lets the eggs go back
Eyes on the total, doing the math
Behind her, someone sets a bottle down
Card hits the reader, green light, no sound
Thirty-five dollars, doesn't slow him down
Same little moment, different ground
Receipt prints, she folds it in half
Pushes the cart, doesn't look back
We're all breathing the same air tonight
Same space, different states of mind
Some are holding on, some letting go
Some got everything and still feel broke
It ain't fair, but it's all right here
In moments that come and disappear
Standing close, worlds out of sight
Breathing the same air tonight
TV's on low in a hospital room
Sun's dropping low behind the glass
Paper cup water, pills on a tray
Calendar marked a few weeks away
Phone lights up with a picture sent through
Tiny clothes in a soft shade of blue
He looks at it, then sets it down
Stares at the window, hands at his sides
Across town—
Phone in his hand, scrolling through
Pictures of water, white sand views
Ocean breeze and a five-star stay
Sighs at the screen, then looks away
We're all breathing the same air tonight
Same space, different states of mind
Some are holding on, some letting go
Some got everything and still feel broke
It ain't fair, but it's all right here
In moments that come and disappear
Standing close, worlds out of sight
Breathing the same air tonight
Big house, quiet, lights still on
Dishes in the sink, but no one home
Far away, in a dirt floor room
Bare feet dancing to a different tune
Kind hands reaching, just to feel known
Sharp ones taking what's not their own
Some get by, some take more than they need
Some fall behind chasing the lead
We're all breathing the same air tonight
Same space, different states of mind
Some are holding on, some letting go
Some got everything and still feel broke
It ain't fair, but it's all right here
In moments that come and disappear
Standing close, worlds out of sight
Breathing the same air tonight
Same air moving through you and me
Different roads… same need to be

You walked in like a hurricane
Then blamed the houses for the rain
Every mirror had to lie
If it didn’t like your side
You lit the fuse and called it fate
Then cursed the fire for the heat
Somehow every shattered thing
Was never yours to own
You never bent, you never broke
Just pointed where the blame would go
You want the kindness you never gave
You want the loyalty you couldn’t save
You want the world to kneel somehow
To a borrowed crown
You burn the bridge, then curse the fall
And still expect respect from all
The wreckage scattered on the ground
Around your borrowed crown
Every story had one hero
Funny how it was never me
You rewrote history in real time
Till the truth could barely breathe
Love was just something you spent
Never thinking what it cost
Then wondered why the vault ran dry
After everything it bought
You never saw the damage done
If you weren’t the bleeding one
You want the kindness you never gave
You want the loyalty you couldn’t save
You want the world to kneel somehow
To a borrowed crown
You burn the bridge, then curse the fall
And still expect respect from all
The wreckage scattered on the ground
Around your borrowed crown
(Instrumental Interlude - Guitar, Vox)
Respect is earned in quiet rooms
Not shouted from a throne
And love don’t grow where fear is sown
No matter what you call it
You called yourself a queen for years
But kingdoms need a heart
And your self righteous throne
Fell apart when I figured it out
You wanted kindness you never gave
You wanted loyalty you couldn’t save
You wanted me to live somehow
Beneath your borrowed crown
But I found peace beyond your walls
No guilt left when the empire falls
Just silence where the screams were loud
Around your borrowed crown
The crown was never gold
Just noise and nothing real
Mirror… mirror… on the wall…
We know how your kingdom fell…

Black wings resting on a wire
Watching everything below
And a rabbit frozen in the grass
Listening while the shadows grow
Through tired eyes you start to see
What the careful crow already knows
Some truths only show themselves
When the storm begins to close
You showed up when the sky fell in
With careful words and a practiced grin
Said all the things a friend might say
While watching how the pieces lay
You leaned real close like you understood
Said you'd help me if you could
But somewhere in the things I found
Was a truth you couldn't hide
And some lessons once you see them
Are the kind you get to keep
Funny how the truth appears
When the lights go low and the road gets steep
Some people reach to pull you up
Some just watch to see how deep
Finders keepers, lesson learned
Some bridges break, some bridges burn
You showed me more than you meant to show
When the storm rolled in and the truth got known
Finders keepers, I can see
Exactly who you turned out to be
You thought the fall belonged to me
But the wisdom's mine to keep
The crow just waits to see the break
The rabbit learns which path to take
Both of them survive the storm
Watching how the world performs
And the ones who never face the fire
Never learn what truth requires
So when their quiet walls collapse
They won't know how to stand
Finders keepers, lesson learned
Some bridges break, some bridges burn
You showed me more than you meant to show
When the storm rolled in and the truth got known
Finders keepers, now I see
The strength you never wished for me
You thought the fall belonged to me
But the wisdom's mine to keep
Through tired eyes I finally see
That crow was watching just like me

You say he's different in the quiet
When the room goes still
You say he's learning how to listen
You say he's learning how to feel
But I've watched him chase the thunder
Just to hear his own name ring
Some people don't want shelter
They just like the lightning
And I don't say much anymore
I've said my piece before
You don't ask a dragon to blow out a candle
You don't ask the tide not to rise
You don't hand a match to a heart that loves to gamble
Then call it surprise
A leopard don't change its pattern
Just because you believe it should
Some fires aren't accidents
They burn because they can
I stepped back without a scene
Didn't slam a single door
Watched it all go up in smoke
I'd seen that end before
You called it love, I called it pattern
We both stood where we stood
You said this time would be different
I hoped for you it would
Hope don't fix a thing
It just sounds good
I don't need to say "I told you"
The silence does enough
Some lessons write themselves
In ash and what's left behind
And when the heat gets closer
And the air is hard to breathe
You'll remember this quiet room
And what I couldn't make you see
You don't ask a dragon to blow out a candle
You don't ask the tide not to rise
You don't ask the rain to stop
If you wrap your arms around something wild
Don't be surprised by the bruise
Some people love the burning
More than they love the light
I'm watching from the outside now
And I sleep alright at night

The radio's just static now
But I don't turn it off
Streetlights flicker, losing power
Like they're tired of holding on
There's a siren somewhere fading
But it don't feel like it's for us
People running past the windows
Like they're late for something gone
I stopped trying to make sense of it
The night just rolls along
And I don't need to know what's coming
I don't need to understand
You're right here beside me
Passenger side of the end
World's burning out in the distance
But you reach for my hand
We don't talk about forever
We don't make those kinds of plans
We just keep driving through the dark
Doing the best that we can
Billboards torn and hanging sideways
Like they gave up on the lie
Every road we used to count on
Leads to somewhere we passed by
I see fire on the horizon
Reflected in your eyes
But you don't look away from it
And neither do I
If this all falls down around us
At least we know we tried
You're right here beside me
Passenger side of the end
World's falling out of the sky now
But you're still my constant
We don't promise there's a morning
We don't need to pretend
We just keep moving through the dark
Like we always did
If it all goes quiet
If the lights don't come back on
If the map just disappears
And every road is gone
Would you still sit beside me
Like there's nowhere else to be
Like the world can do its worst
And still not take you from me
You're right here beside me
Passenger side of the end
Everything breaking around us
But you don't let it in
We don't need a happy ending
We don't need to pretend
If it all goes dark tomorrow
I'd still choose this again
The radio's still static
But I hear you breathing slow
And if this is how it finishes…
I'm not letting go

She said, "I don't feel beautiful today"
Standing in the mirror, picking things away
Talking about lines no one else can see
Like they matter more than how she is with me
I said, "You're being harder on yourself than anyone else
You're seeing things nobody sees but you
You're staring too long at a piece of glass
It isn't in the surface or the skin
It's in the way you hold the world you're in
Beauty's in the eyes that look for good
Even when the day is not what it should
In the hands that stay when things fall apart
In the steady rhythm of a patient heart
It's not in the spotlight or how it appears
Or chasing approval year after year
It's in the grace you give, the truth you live
It's everywhere
Depends on where you look
I've seen it in a sunrise over open stone
In a melody that makes you feel less alone
In a baby's voice finding something new
In the quiet between what is said and true
In dogs running circles for no reason at all
In someone who listens and lets you talk
In a person who sees every fault you own
And still decides they are not alone
It isn't in the noise people repeat
It's in the space between
Beauty's in the eyes that look for good
Even when the day is not what it should
In the hands that stay when things fall apart
In the steady rhythm of a patient heart
It's not in the spotlight or how it appears
Or chasing approval year after year
It's in the grace you give, the truth you live
It's everywhere
Depends on where you look
We get used to what we see every day
Start believing that's the only way
Call it normal, call it right
Never question what's in plain sight
But beauty isn't loud, it never needs to prove
It shows up in the smallest things we choose
In staying present when it would be easier to leave
In seeing someone fully and letting them be
The ones who know you when you're not your best
And do not turn away
Beauty's in the eyes that look for good
Even when the day is not what it should
In the love that holds when things come apart
In the steady rhythm of a patient heart
It's not perfection, it's not control
It's not a number you assign a soul
It's in the way you give, the way you forgive
It's everywhere
Yeah, it's everywhere
You just have to choose to look
She laughed a little, let the silence sit
Turned from the mirror… and walked past it

There's a quiet in the room I've never known
Like the world just took a breath and let me go
Machines don't argue, they just fade to black
And somewhere deep inside… I don't want it back
You held your ground with a steady hand
Made peace with things we don't understand
You never said it, but I could see
You were teaching life by how you leave
No fear left in your eyes
Just truth you didn't have to hide
And it's funny what survives when everything else goes
Not the things we chased, just the love we chose
All the noise burns out, all the pride lets go
In the end, it's what we gave that shows
Deadlines, deals, and the miles we ran
Tryin' to be more than a mortal man
But none of that follows where I'm goin' now
Just faces I loved and the truth laid bare
And it's funny what survives when everything else goes
Not the things we chased, just the love we chose
All the noise burns out, all the pride lets go
In the end, it's what we gave that shows
Small hands reaching for something bright
Didn't know wrong, didn't know right
Just breath and wonder, open sky
Before we ever learned we die
And it's funny what survives when everything else goes
Not the things we chased, just the love we chose
All the noise burns out, all the pride lets go
In the end, it's what we gave that shows
Now it's quiet… but it's not the end
Feels like I'm beginning again
If this is the light they talk about
It's not a flame… it's a light on a path to a new day

Woke up walking on a blank white floor
No edges, no horizon anymore
Sky was there but barely blue
Like it didn't know what it wanted to do
No sound but the weight of breath
No past behind, no hint of what's next
Every step felt like the same
But something in me let it all go still
Started thinking maybe this is it
Nothing to lose, nothing to fix
All the ghosts I used to fight
Didn't feel like something I had to fight
Then a voice I almost knew
Said, "You don't need a different view"
And for once I didn't move
I just stood there with the truth
I've been chasing lines that never bend
Trying to find a break in the end
It's white without end, just salt and sky
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
And the weight I carried all my life
Doesn't feel so heavy tonight
No answers came, no grand design
Just a quiet truth I couldn't fight
And for the first time I could see it clear
Through tired eyes
Felt the cold turn into calm
Like letting go without giving up
Not forgiveness, not regret
Just everything I hadn't named yet
I thought of all the ones I lost
Every bridge I couldn't cross
And somehow standing all alone
Didn't feel I was on my own
It's white without end, just salt and sky
No more asking the reason why
All the hurt and all the grace
Finally share the same space
No finish line, no sudden light
Just enough truth to get through the night
And for the first time I can see it clear
Through tired eyes
Woke up in the dark, you next to me
Same old world, same gravity
But something quiet stayed instead…
From the white
…through tired eyes

Sand in my teeth, the Humvee flips like a toy
Little girl’s scream cuts off mid-air, then nothing but noise
Fallujah alley, bullets like hornets in the black
I’m still pulling triggers on shadows that never go back
I don’t like to sleep, the second I close my eyes
Ghouls crawl in wearing faces of the guys who died
They tear me apart in slow motion, piece by bloody piece
Laughing while they stitch me back up just to do it again in the next dream
They said “stay with us, brother” — I did
Now the VA says “fill out form 17-B, kid”
Six months for pills that don’t kill the dreams
Just make the ghouls prettier when they scream
Wires in my head, IED in my bed
One wrong word, one loud sound and I’m dead
I smile at my kids while the body count spins
Hold it together with duct tape and sins
I don’t like to sleep… I don’t like to sleep…
What the fuck is wrong with me?
Ambush at midnight, 0300 on the clock
I check the perimeter every time the damn dog barks
Eyes burning red from another night wide awake
Better to pace these floors than let the ghosts take
Waiting room plastic, fluorescent hell
Twenty-three vets ahead, ringing the same bell
They lost my file again, lost another year
I’m counting exit signs and loading the fear
Wires in my head, IED in my bed
One wrong word, one loud sound and I’m dead
I smile at my kids while the body count spins
Hold it together with duct tape and sins
I don’t like to sleep… God I don’t like to sleep…
What the fuck is wrong with me?
She’s in the rearview melting… sandals in the flames
Ghosts in my bedroom calling my name
They rip the stitches open, feast on what’s left of my brain
I wake up swinging at nothing, covered in sweat and shame
I don’t like to sleep…
I don’t like to sleep…
Just one more second… don’t let me fall…
Wires in my head (wires in my head)
IED in my bed (still in my bed)
Ghouls in my dreams tearing me apart again
One little thing… one little thing…
And the whole goddamn world burns again
I don’t like to sleep…
(What the fuck is wrong with me?)
I don’t like to sleep…
What the fuck is wrong with me?
Hold it together… hold it together…
Don’t close your eyes… don’t close your eyes…

Heavy like concrete poured into my veins
Streetlights flicker on the same old pain
News feed bleeding, another dream in flames
I carry the oceans, but I’m drowning in rain
Shoulders cracked under invisible stone
Moments I borrowed, now I’m paying alone
The mirror keeps asking what I’ve become
Just a small man staring down the sun
It’s all too loud, it’s all too much
The weight of the world and the weight of us
But I won’t break, I won’t fade away
I’ll drag this mountain into a better day
Scream it louder than the voices in my head
I was born for this, I’ll carry it till I’m dead
Weight of the world, weight of the world on me
I’ll lift it higher so the lost can see
We’re still alive, we’re still burning bright
Push back the darkness, own the fight
Expectations whispering like knives in the wind
Be the hero, be the rock, never let it bend
Bills on the table, ghosts in the hall
Daughters’ eyes asking if their father won’t fall
Cities on fire, borders drawn in blood
Everyone shouting but nobody’s heard
I swallow the static, I choke on the noise
Still I stand up, still I make my choice
I won’t break, I won’t fade away
I’ll drag this mountain into a better day
Scream it louder than the voices in my head
I was born for this, I’ll carry it till I’m dead
Weight of the world, weight of the world on me
I’ll lift it higher so the lost can see
We’re still alive, we’re still burning bright
Push back the darkness, own the fight
What if the weight was never mine to hold?
What if the sky don’t need another soul
Trying to fix it all alone?
What really matters when the curtain falls…
Is the love we gave, or the fear we hauled?
I won’t break! I won’t fade away!
I’ll drag this mountain into a better day!
Scream it louder than the voices in my head
We were born for this, we’ll carry it till we’re dead
Weight of the world, weight of the world on me
I’ll lift it higher — watch the lost go free
We’re still alive, we’re still burning bright
Together we rise… into the light

Twilight bleeds across the rooftops,
Painted edges fading slow.
Streetlights flicker like half-forgotten promises,
And the sky turns violet, stealing the show.
I trace the colors with a tired eye,
Let the wind cut through my coat.
Everything’s beautiful, breaking in silence,
But I’m smiling like I don’t feel the weight.
I see the glow, I feel the pull,
This aching beauty I can’t trust at all.
Violet skies, holding the hurt and the wonder,
Sadness and stars tangled under my skin.
I’m drowning in colors I wish I could surrender to,
But I’m locked in the gray, wearing this mask again.
Oh, it’s gorgeous and gone, like a knife wrapped in silk,
I see the beauty… I just can’t let it in.
Violet skies, you’re killing me softly tonight.
Memories rise like smoke from the embers,
Old ghosts in the lavender light.
I laugh at the jokes, I carry the conversations,
While the violet deepens and swallows the fight.
They say just breathe, just open your hands,
But these fists have been clenched for years.
I see the grace in the cracks of the evening,
Still I hide every tear.
Maybe peace isn’t bright, maybe peace looks like this—
A bruised sky learning to hold both the ache and the kiss.
If I let go, would the violet forgive me?
Or would I disappear in the hues that I envy?
…Just a little longer, I’ll keep pretending.
Violet skies, you hold what I can’t quite capture,
The melancholy beauty I’m desperate to hide.
I see it, I feel it, I’m right on the fracture…
Still fighting the pull of the tide.
Oh, it’s gorgeous and gone, but it stays in my chest,
One day I’ll give in… but not yet.
Violet skies… violet skies…

Sunlight dancing on the kitchen floor
Coffee steam and that crooked door
Your hand in mine, we owned the pause
Built a castle with invisible walls
Shattered echoes, bouncing off the walls
Your voice still ringing through these empty halls
Fading, crashing, in the late-night crawl
These shattered echoes won’t let me let you go at all
But every crack lets the daylight in
Every scar’s where the new me begins
I’m turning ghosts to glitter and grace
Learning how to love the empty space
Empty side of the bed still holds your shape
Thunder rolling in, no escape
Faded pictures on the fridge door
Your shadow’s still keeping score
Shattered echoes, bouncing off the walls
Your voice still ringing through these empty halls
Fading, crashing, in the late-night crawl
These shattered echoes won’t let me let you go at all
Won’t let me… let you go…
Shattered echoes… turning into gold…
